Patio cleaning across Cronton
Soft sandstone and reclaimed flags get a gentle treatment and rinse from us, and only solid concrete ever sees firm pressure, so no patio ends up scarred.
Behind Cronton’s houses you find everything from reclaimed stone flags in the cottage gardens at Town End to Indian sandstone and porcelain laid behind the modern detached homes. Gardens here back onto fields, hedges and mature trees, so patios sit in shade and leaf drop for much of the year, and black spot lichen loves porous stone that never quite dries out. A quick blast just marks the surface, so we clean each patio to suit the stone it is laid in.

Black spot lichen bedded deep into sandstone flags in the shadier gardens
Green slime turning slabs slippery where hedges block the drying wind
Moss creeping in from lawn edges and filling the joints between slabs
Leaf and berry staining under the mature trees on the bigger garden plots
Town End and Pex Hill are all on the round, along with the rest of the town.

Yes, Cronton and the WA8 postcodes is on our regular patch, about 8 minutes out from our base in Prescot.
There is no set price list, because what you pay comes down to the size of the patio, the type of stone, and whether black spot lichen has rooted into it or it is just green film.
Not when the method matches the surface. Indian sandstone and older flags are softer than they look, so we never just blast everything at full power. We check the stone first, then use a rotary surface cleaner at a pressure the slab can take, or soft wash it if the surface calls for that instead.
Black spot is a lichen that roots into the pores of the stone, so jet washing on its own tends to smear it rather than remove it. We treat it with a dedicated black spot remover, let it work, then clean the surface properly. Heavy spotting sometimes needs a second treatment and we’ll tell you that up front.
Tell us what needs cleaning and we will come back with a free quote. We take on driveway cleaning, patio cleaning, roof moss removal and render cleaning right across Prescot, Knowsley, St Helens and the rest of Merseyside, and the price we quote is fixed before we start, so it never moves on the day.
