Fascia & Soffit Cleaning

White uPVC fascias and soffits brought back clean with low-pressure soft washing across Prescot, Knowsley and St Helens.

What we clean

The roofline is the band of uPVC that runs around the top of your walls, and it collects grime faster than almost any other part of the house. Blastaway Pressure Washing Services cleans all of it:

  • Fascias, the upright boards your gutters hang from
  • Soffits, the underside boards that shade over and turn green
  • Bargeboards on gable ends
  • Trims, corners and joints where dirt beds in
  • Cobwebs, old nests and debris tucked along the boards

We work across Prescot, Huyton, Whiston, Rainhill, St Helens, south Liverpool and over to Widnes.

How we do it

Every roofline gets looked at first: the length, the height, the access and how far the algae and streaking have got. That tells us how strong the mix needs to be and how long it needs to sit.

The clean itself is a soft wash. A uPVC-safe solution goes on at low pressure and breaks down the green algae, black streaks and traffic film, and stubborn patches get worked over by hand so they lift rather than smear. Everything then comes off with a controlled low-pressure rinse, leaving the boards clean with no residue and no water forced up behind them.

Why it matters

Plenty of the interwar semis around Huyton, Whiston and St Helens have white uPVC rooflines sitting above pebbledash or K rend, and once the boards green up the whole front of the house looks tired, however clean the walls and windows are. The damp air that rolls in off the Mersey keeps shaded soffits wet for weeks at a time, which is exactly what algae likes, so a north-facing roofline can go from white to green in a couple of seasons.

Left alone, the growth spreads down onto the render and the window heads below. Cleaned properly, the roofline lifts the look of the whole house, and because the solution kills the growth rather than just rinsing the surface, it stays clean far longer than a wipe-down would.

Fascia & soffit cleaning FAQ

Straight answers to the things people ask us about fascia & soffit cleaning around Prescot and Merseyside.

Is soft washing safe on uPVC fascias and soffits?

Yes, and it’s the reason we use it. The cleaning solution does the hard work of breaking down algae and grime, and a low-pressure rinse carries it away. There’s no blasting, so nothing gets scratched, cracked or forced up behind the boards. Aiming a full-power jet wash at a roofline is asking for water in the soffit void, so we never do it.

Will my white fascias come back properly white?

Usually, yes. The green tint and grey film on most rooflines around Prescot is surface growth and airborne dirt, and a soft wash lifts it off to show the white underneath. Boards that have oxidised or discoloured over many years may not come back to brand new, and if that is the case we’ll say so before you book anything.

What are the black streaks running down my fascias?

Rain carries dirt and algae over the front lip of the gutter, and it dries in dark lines on the board below. Shaded and north-facing runs get it worst because they never fully dry out. A wipe with a cloth smears it around; we break it down with the right solution and rinse it away properly.

Can you clear the gutters at the same time?

Yes, and most customers book both together. Fascia and soffit cleaning deals with the outside faces of the roofline, while our gutter clearing service empties the leaves, moss and silt out of the run itself. Doing the two in one visit means the whole roofline is sorted at once, so ask and we’ll price them together.

How much does fascia and soffit cleaning cost in Prescot?

It depends on the length of the roofline, the height of the house, the access and how heavy the growth is, so there’s no set price list. Get in touch with the address and we’ll give you a free fixed quote, agreed before any work starts.
